It has been brought to our attention that headlice are prevalent in school again! This half term holiday is an ideal time to check and treat accordingly so that when we come back after half term we will hopefully have eradicated this problem.
Could you please check your child’s hair (boys and girls) and treat accordingly. This does seem to be persistent problem and we all need to be vigilant.
Please also read the information leaflet below for more advice
This half term Long Mynd, Ercall and Hawkstone classes have been learning about the legend of Robin Hood.
Long Mynd have been reading stories of Robin Hood and have now written their own narrative based on what they have learnt.
Ercall have been writing stories and are now focusing on a Discussion Text ‘ Was Robin Hood a hero or a villain?’
The children have been learning songs and practising their lines, ready for their production of Hoodwinked after half-term.
Haughmond and Stiperstones have started preparing for what’s going to an amazing end of year production. Today, Mrs Pike and Miss Richards held auditions for the children Who wanted to be a main character in the play. They had to show them their singing ability and both members of staff were very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm. This year the children will be performing The Jungle Book.
What a brilliant day out we had at Lake Vyrnwy today. The sun shone and we were given the opportunity to paddle across the lake, past the dam, to the beach and back to the Boat House – where some of us chose to get very wet!
A big thank you for Mr Kenyon, Office staff, and Year 6 staff for organising the trip and also to the PTA and Mr Dickson
for helping to fund the trip.
All of the children were so well behaved and had such great fun. Here are a few photos and movie clips from today (Click on the links above!)
