What a fantastic start to the new term we have had in Haughmond in our first full week. Miss Richards and I have been very impressed with attitude to work, behaviour and the quality of work produced.
We have started our new topic on Hola Mexico and have located the country using world maps. This week we have began to look at the fascinating landscape.
In English and PSHE – we have been studying the book – Here We Are (which is a book the whole school are studying together.) The children have all produced some fantastic work which they are all eager to share. (See gallery below)
The children have also enjoyed our new class novel – Holes. They all eagerly await 3.00 to find out what is going to happen in the next chapter. We are already on Chapter 7
Our new topic in RE is Sikhism and we have been finding out about how this religion started and retelling the story of Guru Nanak.
Our PE day is going to be on a Thursday. The children need to come dressed for PE on this day and make sure they have got a labelled water bottle.
Evolution and Inheritance is our new Science topic. We have been looking at inherited characteristics this week. Thank you for sending in the family snaps for us to observe and help with their learning.
Finally – Maths has got off to a great start. The children have enthusiastically approached work on Place Value and enjoyed the early morning Maths Flashback challenges.
Miss Richards and I have been so proud of you all Haughmond. Keep up the wonderful work and the fantastic attitude to learning with which you have started.
Enjoy our gallery of work based on the book – Here We Are (written by Oliver Jeffers.)
