✨✨Star of the Week in Haughmond ✨✨

Star of the Week this week goes to Teddi – Teodora Stoyanova

Even though she still finds some aspects of English really difficult- you would not know by looking at her Topic work which is always beautifully presented. (As are all of her books) She always gives 100% to everything she does.

She is trying really hard with her maths and her written English work and we are so very proud of her.

Spelling Test Results 👏

Congratulations also goes to Ellis, Alex, Cameron, Teddi, Jessica T, Kenzie, Abby, Tyler, George, Alis, Carson, Roxanne, Kyle, William and Ivelina who all got full marks in their spelling test this week.

Miss Richards and I hope you all have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing all of the children back in school on Monday, ready for another week of wonderful learning!

Times Tables Rock Stars!

What is Times Tables Rock Stars?

Times Tables Rock Stars is either paper form or online, Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.

Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practised every third week or so. This format has been very successful in boosting times tables recall speed.

Today, during our Maths lesson, Haughmond explored this new resource by competing against one another and against the teachers!

We had great fun!

Haughmond’s Achievements

Star of the Week

Our star of the week this week is Luke. He is such a hard worker.

He is always first in through my door and gets straight on with his work.

His writing on the desert setting as well as his postcard from Tenochtitlan has really impressed us. He has been getting full marks in spelling test and always gives 100% to everything he does.

Accelerated Reader

A huge well done goes to Harry, Cameron, Jessica T and Libby who received a bookmark off Mr Kenyon today for reading over 10,000 words.
Well done to Roxanne who received a rubber for reading over 100,000 words and George who received a certificate as he has read 578,000 words!

Spelling Test

Congratulations also goes to Kenzie, Roxanne, William, George, Alis, Ivelina and Carson who all got full marks in their spelling test this week.

Keep up the hard work Haughmond class!

Star of the Week in Haughmond 02/10/20

We have had yet another great week in Haughmond class.

This week, Miss Richards and I have chosen Tyler.

We have chosen Tyler for Star of the Week as he has really impressed us again with his full marks in his spelling test. His attitude towards his work since returning to school has been amazing. We were particularly impressed with his Arithmetic Test base Scores which are steadily going up each morning. Tyler has also produced really good ideas within his writing plan this week.

Tyler once again got full marks in his spelling test along with Roxanne, William, George, Kyle, Alis, Alex, Ivelina, Abby, Brooke, Theo and Luke.

We would also like to say a big well done to Haughmond for their improved spelling scores as a whole class.

Accelerated Reading

A huge Well done goes to Ethan, George, William, Abby, Roxanne, Luke, Emily, Jessica G, Lloyd and Lily-Anne who received a bookmark this week.

Congratulations also goes to George and William who have both read over 250,000 words, which meant they have won a pencil and a rubber too!

Keep up the fantastic work!

National Poetry Day Competition

To celebrate National Poetry Day we asked all of the children in Haughmond class to write a poem that was based around the official theme – ‘Vision’.

The children were asked to write a poem either with the title:

“The Window of Worries”

or the

‘The Window of Well-being’

Here are some good examples of the poems that were created in our class.

Star of the Week in Haughmond Class

We have had a ‘Fabulous’ week in Haughmond once again and it was such a hard decision having to choose our ‘Star of the Week. However, this week Miss Richards and I have chosen Ivelina. Her work is exemplary to all pupils in the class. She is always first in, settles down to her work straight away and produces outstanding work at all times. She has tried really hard this week, as have all the children in Haughmond, but Ivelina has shone brightly.

She once again scored full marks in spelling along with Ethan, Luke, Brooke and Alex.

We would like to say a huge well done to all of the Year 6’s for some fantastic test scores.

We are extremely proud of all of you!

Star of the Week is back!

We have once again had an amazing week in Haughmond and it was so difficult to choose one child. However, the one child that kept catching Miss Richard’s and my eye was Ethan Browne. Wow! What an exceptional start to Year 6! We could not have asked for anything more. Keep up the good work Ethan! From your attitude to learning, good spelling results and Accelerated Reading Scores – you have just had the best week.

Who will it be next week?

We would also like to say a big well done to Tyler and Ivelina who were the only pupils to get full marks in their spelling test and also to Kyle and Libby who received their pen license from Mr Dickson.

We had a fabulous celebration assembly via zoom from Mr Dickson on Friday to celebrate all the fantastic learning that had taken place throughout the week.

Well done Haughmond – we are so proud of you!
